01 // STORY

THE STORY INSIDE THE SONG

Network Shutdown is a dark industrial-metal

companion to Project Hollowpoint, written from the emotional perspective of Hayley

Moon—a former elite FDC operative who

awakens to the truth of the surveillance state she once served. Beneath its

mechanical rhythms, distorted guitars and

cold electronic textures lies a deeply personal conflict: Hayley is not only fighting

the system surrounding her, but confronting the part of herself that helped sustain it.

The network outside her is not the only one she must shut down.

02 // SOUND

THE SOUND OF THE SYSTEM

Low-tuned guitars, sub-heavy bass, industrial percussion and cold electronic layers lock into a relentless mechanical pulse. The music begins under pressure, widens through moments of memory and self-recognition, then accelerates into controlled resistance.

The sparse female vocals begin deliberately suppressed and slightly muffled within the mix, as though struggling to break through the network’s interference. As the track progresses, they emerge with greater clarity and force, yet remain embedded within the music rather than dominating it.

MECHANICAL CONTROL

The rigid, repeating rhythm embodies the FDC: ordered, tireless and always present. Even the human voice must fight for space inside the machinery.

HUMAN RESISTANCE

Brighter harmonic flashes suggest forbidden memories of freedom. The final expansion transforms fear into intent—but never pretends guilt has disappeared.

HAYLEY MOON

She once believed stability meant protection. By the time she understood what the FDC had become, she was already part of its machinery. The track enters the space between that realisation and her decision to turn against it.

"Shutting down the network will not erase what I did. It is my decision to stop obeying it."

THE COMPANION NOVEL

ENTER THE WORLD BEHIND THE TRACK

Network Shutdown does not retell Project Hollowpoint. It enters Hayley's head—her fear, complicity, isolation and decision to resist.
